This document issued by the Coroner instructs a jury and witnesses to attend, presumably at the inquest upon the infant. The outcome of the inquest is unknown, but no criminal proceedings are known to have resulted from it. The Burials Register for the parish of Llanbadarn Trefeglwys records "28th May [1813] David Davies of Pen y Garn aged 18 months".

TRANSCRIPT
Cardiganshire, to wit, To the Chief and other Constables of the Hundred of Ilar
By virtue of my Office, these are, in His Majesty's Name, to charge and command you, that immediately upon Sight hereof, you summon and warn 24 able and sufficient Men of your several Parishes, personally to appear before me, on Friday the Twenty Eighth Day of May at the dwelling house of Thomas Griffith, of Pennant in the said County between the Hours of Nine and Ten in the forenoon then and there to execute all such Things as shall be given them in Charge, on the Behalf of our Sovereign Lord the King, touching the Death of David Davies, an Infant, and for your so doing, this is your Warrant. And you are also to attend at the Time and Place above mentioned, to make a Return of the Names of those you shall so summon; and further, to do and execute such other Matters as shall be then and there enjoined you. Whereof fail not, as you will answer at your Peril.
Given under my Hand and Seal this Twenty Seventh Day of May one Thousand eight Hundred and Thirteen - 1813.
